Weight Watchers Points Plus Cookbook GIVEAWAY!
Welcome to Weight Watchers at Frugal Living and Having Fun!!
I just want to start off this post by saying, “I LOVE WEIGHT WATCHERS!!! It is not a fad, it is not a DIET, it is a lifestyle. Any one can do it and have success, even those who do not wish to loose weight. My mom literally was able to get off her Diabetes Medicine by eating a more healthy diet and exercising following the healthy guidelines that Weight Watchers paves in their wonderful program!
Today is the kick-off of my new Weight Watchers Points Plus Column, where you will find recipes, support, articles on healthy living, tips and tricks and much more. I will be featuring weight loss success stories from our very own readers on a weekly basis and more. I will also be highlighting more Weight Watchers Freebies, Coupons, Giveaways and more.
You can look forward to these Weight Watchers Points Plus post about 2-3 times a week.
To Start with, let me share with you my story:
When I was 20 years old, my sister in-law asked me to attend Weight Watchers meetings with her, because she did not want to go alone. I didn’t feel I really had any weight to loose, but I joined to learn how to eat healthy and to support my sister in-law. To my surprise, I did end of loosing 12 pounds, and became a lifetime member!! I felt awesome, had a lot of energy, my skin looked more vibrant, and I loved all their recipes. I actually became an aerobic instructor right around this time so keeping it off was fun!
I kept my weight off until I had my first baby at age 30! After the baby was born, I went back and lost all my weight again. Which was not much, because I was so sick during my pregnancy, but I still had to loose 15 pounds. After each pregnancy I would go back and get back into shape.
After my last baby, I started to go off program more than I was on, and crept up about 10 pounds. However, I was very comfortable with my weight, so I didn’t try to shed those last 10 pounds.
Then I had an out of “control weight gain!” About 3.5 years ago, I had some thyroid problems! The doctors actually thought I had thyroid cancer, but with some dietary changes and some help from the doctors, I brought my thyroid issues back into control. However, I did gain 20 pounds during that year of thyroid problems. (NOW UP 30 Pounds) from my original start weight when I was 20!!! ….somehow, I managed to feel comfortable at this weight as well…and did not feel as though I had a weight problem.
THEN: This past summer, my husband and I went on a summer long binge of going out to eat, vacationing and NOT EXERCISING…by the time I got back to a Weight Watchers meeting, I had gained an additional 25 pounds!! YES I DID!!! (NOW 55 pounds over my desirable weight).
I have already lost 11 pounds and I am already starting to feel so much better, have more energy, and have even started exercising on my elliptical again for 30 minutes around 3 times a week!!
In a recent study I took on Facebook I asked my readers if they would enjoy a special column written by me about my 55 pound weight loss journey. The response was overwhelmingly positive. With in 2 minutes, I had over 100 “LIKES” and 55 positive comments to do it. With-in an hour I had around 500 “LIKES”.
This was a sign to me that my readers truly want to be encouraged on their weight loss journey as well!
