Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus Puts His Cell Phone Down!

by Mary on May 16, 2012

This past February, I was honored to meet Rascal Flatts in person at our Blissdom Convention. My husband and I are on the far left, (both in brown). They had a concert for all the bloggers that attended Blissdom, and it was wonderful!

Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus Puts His Cell Phone Down!

In this day and age where everyone is so connected to their cell phones Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus admits one of his biggest pet peeves is people who won’t put down their cell phones when they’re out to dinner.

I knew I loved Rascal Flatts, and now I love them even more.  I recently read the following article on Nashville Love, and couldn’t agree with Jay DeMarcus more.

My husband and I have also a similar agreement with the cell phones when we are out with friends and each other. – “GET OFF THEM”.  I have even went a step further and do not even take mine out, or leave it in the car when my husband and I are out on a date.  Time is too precious!

We were not always sold on the idea, but the more we saw people with their heads down texting, checking their e-mail, looking at their photos, playing games, etc. throughout an entire meal, we knew that was not what we wanted for ourselves.   Time with friends and loved ones is too precious to our family, and so we have “Put the phone down”..and was excited to read that so was Jay!

What is your opinion on this?  I would LOVE to hear your thoughts! “Leave comments below in the comments section”.

Here is the original article!

In this day and age where everyone is so connected to their cell phones Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus admits one of his biggest pet peeves is people who won’t put down their cell phones when they’re out to dinner.

“It’s a little bit disconcerting when you’re at dinner trying to hang out with friends and everybody’s text messaging. That’s kind of gettin’ on my nerves,” he says. “Sometimes you just want to go out to dinner and enjoy each other and then you have some folks sittin’ there that are totally tuned out just texting away.”

Jay admits that he and his wife, Allison, have been guilty of this behavior, so he says, “We’ve actually made a pact that when we go to a restaurant and sit down we put the phones away.”

Rascal Flatts phones were no doubt blowing up when they recently celebrated their song “Banjo” going #1, and now they’re preparing to release their next single, “Come Wake Me Up,” off of their Changed album.
