Earn Free Gas All Summer Long while Shopping for Essentials at CVS/pharmacy

Spend $30 on Select Items Each Week in the Circular to Earn Free $10 Gas Card

With summer around the corner and gas prices reaching $4 per-gallon nationally, CVS/pharmacy has announced a new program designed to allow customers to earn free gas all summer just by shopping for essentials at more than 7,200 locations nationwide. From May 22 – August 28, 2011, members of CVS/pharmacy’s ExtraCare Rewards program can earn one $10 gift card to Exxon/Mobil, Shell, BP Amoco or BP Arco every week simply by spending $30 on specially-marked items found conveniently in the weekly CVS/pharmacy circular.

Fill Up the Cart, Fill Up the Tank

Participation is easy. Customers can find the qualifying products on the front and back pages of the weekly CVS/pharmacy circular beginning May 22, accessible in-store, online at http://www.CVS.com and on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/CVS. All qualifying products will be tagged with a “get free gas” icon to make them easily identifiable. Eligible products will rotate each week, giving shoppers greater flexibility to fill their carts with the essentials they shop for each week.

Once ExtraCare customers reach the $30 required purchase threshold, a special coupon will print on their receipt that can be redeemed immediately in store for a $10 gas card. If customers prefer to wait to redeem their coupon they have up to 30 days to do so. Limit one redemption per week for each ExtraCare cardholder.

Shop & Save with ExtraCare

CVS/pharmacy customers save money through the ExtraCare Rewards program all year long. ExtraCare is the nation’s largest retail rewards program, with more than 67 million active cardholders. Registering is free, takes less than two minutes in-store or online, and cardholders receive two-percent back on nearly every dollar spent in the store, every time they shop. At the end of each quarter, these earnings are paid out in the form of ExtraBucks rewards printed on the bottom of cardholders’ receipts, which can then be used just like cash to buy nearly anything in the store. Additionally, in participating states, for every two prescriptions filled at CVS/pharmacy, cardholders automatically receive $1 in ExtraBuck rewards. Cardholders can also register their ExtraCare accounts on CVS.com to print out ExtraBucks at home before shopping. Red kiosks called ExtraCare Coupon Centers can also be found in nearly every store, so cardholders can scan their cards at the beginning of each shopping trip to receive personalized coupons and any available ExtraBucks rewards, which they can then use during that same visit.

Beyond quarterly rewards, CVS/pharmacy offers special discounts listed in the weekly sales circular exclusively for ExtraCare members. In addition to these offers, shoppers can earn more ExtraBucks rewards simply by purchasing qualifying items. These ExtraBucks rewards print immediately on the bottom of the shopper’s receipt after the transaction is completed.

Does the final price you pay have to be $30 or can you use coupons to make it less?

I was gonna ask the same question.

Same question–especially if you have ECBs to spend.

“Once ExtraCare customers reach the $30 required purchase threshold”
Does this mean the $30 doesn’t all have to be in one trip?

I believe it is $30 before coupons, not sure about ecb’s and how that affects it

I understand the $30 does not have to be in one week and there will be different items each week.
