I want to tell you about a site I was introduced to recently called, Novica. Novica is one of the leading fair trade artisan websites that work with National Geographics to give talented artisans around the world a place to express their artistic talents and provide access to the world market.  They have thousands of top fair trade corporate gifts and home decor items on their website!  I was especially attracted to their hand carved chess sets they had.

There has always been a community of artists who have been isolated for centuries by distance, time, and geography~ Now, Finally, there is a bridge connecting separate cultures and artist in one place, that is the Novica Nation!  This site is very interesting and each gift is handmade, and unique to the artist themselves. It will take you awhile to go through all their hand made gifts and different gift categories including fair trade corporate gifts , green gifts ,and unique gifts .

   

Novica provided Frugal Living And Having Fun with a gift card to buy something in their store and review the quality of their website, merchandise, services, and ease of navigating around their site.   So I ordered for my review a, “Ribbons of Onyx, Chess Set”.   The Chess Set is beautiful and looks exactly like the picture above.  It is “coffee table” worthy! “smile”  I thought the site was very easy to navigate, and had a wide range of gifts to choose from.  They also allow payment via paypal, which is always nice. Even if you aren’t buying any thing from the site, the personal write ups of each artist is very interesting and I was actually learning about the different cultures from reading about each one!  If you are a type of person who likes one of a kind gifts, this is a pretty neat site to check out!!
